Lafayette College Holds Medical Clinics

In January, a group from Lafayette College’s Alternative Spring Break Club joined CARE in southern Honduras to hold four medical clinics in schools and community centers, reaching 1235 Hondurans who otherwise face limited access to healthcare facilities and pharmacies. The clinics included general physicians, eye doctors, dentists, and a pharmacy. Lafayette’s ASB members also painted at a high school in Duyure (southeastern Honduras) and enjoyed a day of food, games, and cultural exchange with students and community members in El Terrero, an area largely inaccessable to visitors that lacks running water and electricity. Many thanks to the Lafayette group and the local communities we worked and learned with, and congratulations on a successful week!
