Call for July 2017 Trip Participants

July 23-29, 2017: Honduras Trip for Individuals

Want to visit Honduras to volunteer with Central American Relief Efforts but don’t have a group to travel with?

Once each year, we set travel dates to accommodate individuals who want to participate in a mission trip. If we can get commitment from 10+ volunteers between now and April 1, we will run the week-long trip to Honduras. With fewer than 10 participants, we are not able to meet the costs of running the trip, so please help us spread the word!!

Please note: once we have enough participants or reach the deposit deadline, those who have submitted payment will be notified whether the trip is officially a “go” (expect this announcement in early April). ****Please do not book airfare before this announcement.****

Our tentative itinerary is as follows:

  • Monday – Arrive in Tegucigalpa. Travel south to Pespire where we will get checked in at the hotel and prep for the week.
  • Tuesday – Clinic day in rural community.
  • Wednesday - Clinic day in rural community.
  • Thursday - Clinic day in rural community.
  • Friday – Visit a local school or health clinic to conduct a paint project.
  • Saturday – Visit a weekly English class sponsored by C.A.R.E. at a local school, then travel to our partner Orphanage to spend the afternoon with our friends who live there.
  • Sunday – Travel to Tegucigalpa airport to return home!
  • Trip fees are $1100/person and include all in-country transportation, hotel stay, three meals/day, interpreters, 24-hour professional security staff, and all activities and excursions while in Honduras.

    Out of pocket expenses include:

    *airfare (and transportation to and from your point of departure in the U.S.) NOTE: travel arrangements are NOT included in your trip fees, and because airfare pricing can vary significantly based on time of booking, time of travel, and point of departure in the U.S., we cannot guarantee flight prices. We recommend you use a flight search online to estimate airfare cost from your area. Once we confirm we have enough participants to run the trip, we recommend making travel arrangements as early as possible to get the best rates. We can connect you with other participants if you’d like to travel with other members of your team. We can arrange travel for you for an additional fee – contact our office for more info.

    *passport application/renewal fees (if applicable), immunizations, or other pre-departure items you may need updated.

    *$40 exit tax payable upon departure at Tegucigalpa airport (some airlines include this in your ticket fee – you can check with your air carrier directly as travel dates approach!)

    *spending money (optional) for souvenirs, extra snacks/drinks, and tips for Honduran staff – most individuals who travel with us spend $100-200 max.
