About Us

Central American Relief Efforts is a Pennsylvania-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization that works to send humanitarian aid in the areas of Health and Education primarily to southern Honduras. The organization was incorporated by Steve Mentzer in 2007 .

We work closely with Honduran staff members and a Honduran Advisory Board to ensure that our efforts are directed toward the most high-need areas and are implemented in the most positive manor possible. CARE is involved in a variety of projects, including:

*Traveling with volunteer groups to hold medical clinics in rural communities,
*Construction and painting projects at schools and community health centers,
*Founding self-sustaining pharmacies in areas with little-to-no access to affordable medicine,
*Providing various supplies to underfunded public hospitals and schools,
*Partnering with other US-based non-profits, including Free Wheelchair Mission and Rise Against Hunger, to provide additional services to high-need communities in our work zone.

We continue to serve those living in extreme poverty thanks to the support of our donors, volunteers, and trip participants. Contact our US office at carelief07[at]gmail[dot]com to learn more about how you can get involved!
