La Barranca Girls and Chaparral-La Condega Boys Win Ian’s Boots and CARE Soccer Tournament

The soccer tournament sponsored by Ian’s Boots and organized by Central American Relief Efforts was a great success! The tournament was played Sunday July 24th in Pespire.

Congratulations to the girls team from La Barranca and the boys team from the neighboring communities of Condega and Chaparral who came out on top at this year’s soccer tournament!

Manheim Township Highschool Group Prepares for Trip Adventure

Nine students from Manheim Township Highschool are ready to leave Lancaster at 2AM Sunday morning for their flight to Tegucigalpa Honduras. Three students have previously been on a trip to Honduras with Central American Relief Efforts. 

During their week of work and adventure, the first two days they will be helping to install a water system at a medical clinic in Pespire, Honduras. The following two days will be spent in San Marcos, Honduras repairing an eye clinic and visiting schools to provide the students with dental hygiene and eye screening.

The students will also be able to enjoy a cultural experience with students and members of the communities they are working in. We are excited about this upcoming trip!

Central American Relief Efforts Golf Event

Join us Friday September 16, 2011 at Bent Creek Country Club. The annual golf event benefits those in Honduras living in abject poverty.

The First Prize winner will be named the sponsor for a Honduran dentist who will serve the poor once a week.

The Second Prize will be named the sponsor of English Classes for poor Honduran kids.

Children’s Vitamins Needed

Central American Relief Efforts will be conducting a medical clinic during its July mission trip. We are still in need of an additional 10,000 children’s vitamins for the clinic. Anyone interested in donating please contact us!

Guapinol Mosquito Net Delivery a Success!

In Ian’s Boots to Host Soccer Tournament via Central American Relief Efforts

In Ian’s Boots will host a youth soccer tournament in the southern municipality of Pespire on July 24th. Central American Relief Efforts has assisted In Ian’s Boots by organizing the tournament in Honduras. Teams have been invited from the remote villages of Pespire where the kids do not often have the opportunity to participate in a organized soccer event.

Each participant will be given a pair of soccer cleats and a tournament t-shirt by In Ian’s boots. For more information about the In Ian’s Boots organization, visit their website at

Mosquito Net Drop Off Scheduled for Sunday

The Mosquito nets are scheduled to be dropped off in the community of Guapinol on Sunday. We will have pictures next week!

We are in the process of gathering information on the roof project in Guapinol. If anyone is interested in helping with this project please let us know.

CARE is currently raising money to buy mosquito nets for the community of Guapinol in the southern region of Honduras. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. We are also investigating a project to help this community get new roofs for their houses.
